A cosy inspiring place to reconnect, unwind and take a break from the everyday
Little Wild Rose is a unique and inspiring cosy retreat in the small rural village of Flaxton, 8 miles north the historic city of York and nestled at the foot of the Howardian Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). It is an ideal base for exploring part of ‘God’s own Country’ and some of North Yorkshire’s highlights, including the North York Moors and the Coast.
Indulge yourself in all the culinary delights the local area has to offer or unwind in the cottage and enjoy time to reconnect with yourself and loved ones. The cottage can accommodate up to 6 guests across 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It also benefits from underfloor heating, log burners, luxury bed linens, a hot tub and extra touches to make your time with us that extra bit special.
The building has been converted from a former coach house belonging to the Old Rectory next door. With a colour palette of calming whites and soft greys the cottage is full of curated treasures gathered from British & French antique fairs. Recycling & reclamation has been a key focus in the design of the cottage. Your hosts live on site enabling them to offer a personalised experience to help make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible.
There is a small brocante next door selling some unique finds alongside decorative items for the home & garden. Adjacent to the cottage is a ‘Potting Shed’ where small creative intimate gatherings & workshops will take place from time to time when it is ready and open for business in the summer. The Potting Shed can also be set up for guests staying at the holiday cottage to use for a special dining experience with outside catering that your hosts can help you to arrange.
When you arrive at the cottage you will be greeted by a laid log burning stove, chilled prosecco and a generous hamper with fresh macaroons, all designed to make your stay as special as possible from the very first moment. Cosy winter nights by the log burners and warm summer evenings eating alfresco, watching the sunset on the verandah. A place to escape, slow down and gather.
