A little bit about us
Welcome to Little Wild Rose at the Old Rectory in Flaxton. My name is Kathryn and I live just outside the beautiful historic city of York with my partner Wes, my daughter Eva and our fox red Labrador Lilly. The Cottage is part of the coach house that belongs to the adjacent Rectory which is where we reside. We have been renovating houses all of our lives and bought this beautiful Rectory in 2015, it’s been a project that has kept us busy ever since. I love finding old and unusual things for the home and frequent the brocantes of France and antique fairs whenever I can. These passions have inspired me in the design and styling of the holiday cottage and you will find many carefully curated finds from my travels over the years. I have tried to create a calm but cosy, inspiring place. I’m also a lover of white as I’m sure you can see! Throughout the project the workmen and my dad tried their hardest to put me off the idea of painting everything white. I have had a lot of crazy ideas and I do like to do things a bit differently, much to the delight of the workmen! It’s been quite an adventure for everyone involved getting the cottage up and running, and I’m so excited we’ve finally done it and are ready to welcome all our amazing guests.
